MEMO (2021-09-01) Groundwater Levels to Date for Living Lakes Canada Volunteer Observation Wells
Download: llc_memo_gw_levels_to_date_summer_2021.pdf
Living Lakes Canada’s Groundwater Monitoring Program has recently completed summer site visits to most of its Volunteer Observation Wells in the Columbia Basin. The Program is monitoring static water levels in different aquifers throughout the Basin to have long-term data sets for the assessment of seasonal and yearly trends. The Program now has several sites with multiple years of data (Table 1).
Graphs showing the preliminary water level data collected to date for sites with more than one year of data are included.

Data collection info | Data collection information is included in the metadata on the Water Hub for each well. |
Data processing | Data compensation and water level referencing are completed using HOBO tools. For the conversion of pressure to water level, the water density of freshwater is adjusted for water temperature. Pressures are converted to water level based on manual water manual readings using a water level tape. The pressure data were reviewed to ensure they are within the factory calibrated range of the sensor. Manual and logger data were compared to identify potential instrument drift. |
