Download: llc_groundwater_vow15_20200716_20250529.csv
This data set contains groundwater level data for Volunteer Observation Well (VOW) #15 located near Canal Flats. The station is operated by the Living Lakes Canada Groundwater Monitoring Program in partnership with the well owner to track long term groundwater levels over time.
Preliminary Data Interpretation: This is an active supply well influenced by pumping. The upper groundwater levels are the levels when the pump is turned off, the lower levels show the draw down when the pump is turned on. High water levels occur in June-July and low water levels in April and November-December. Water levels are likely influenced by water levels in the Kootenay River. Recharge is likely from direct precipitation and groundwater surface water interactions with the Kootenay River and Columbia Lake.
