Adam Sutherland
Adam Sutherland is a retired engineer and a resident in the Duhamel Creek Watershed, that is located on the north shore of Kootenay Lake six miles from Nelson. With residents in his neighbourhood, he oversees the operation of their community water system, Six Mile Water Users, that draws drinking water from Duhamel Creek. In 2013, he joined with other residents to form the Duhamel Watershed Society because of concern over a series of debris flows arising from extensive clear-cut logging over many years and from over 60 kilometres of forest service roads that threaten the quality of the ecosystem in the watershed. With the generous support of Kalesnikoff Lumber Co. we have run a volunteer based water monitoring program.
